פְּצַלch. sam(פצלto split, peel), to peel, skim. Y.Bets. V, 63a, v. כָּא. Ithpa. אִיפַּצֵּל, Ithpe. אִיפְּצִיל to be split, branch off. Yoma 71b, a. e. עמרא אִיפַּצּוּלֵי מִיפַּצְּלָא wool (on the sheep) splits off (does not grow like stalks); כיתנא נמי איפצולי מִפְּצִיל but flax also splits!; v. כִּיתַּן.
